We recently had the opportunity to host a ‘DPUK datathon’. The event challenged teams to explore data sets held in the DPUK Data Portal to identify early indicators of Dementia.
The Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) datathon provided a safe space where dementia researchers and data scientists could collaborate and answer some of the most pressing research questions on dementia.
The 3 day event saw participants from a whole range of different backgrounds come together to innovate on one of the most intractable problems for dementia researchers today – namely how to identify the earliest signs of the disease.
We spoke to some of the attendees at the datathon to find out what inspired them to take part and what will be their takeaways from the event.
