The operational environment for Population Data Science includes two ‘safe settings’ areas where users securely interact with data – one in the Data Science Building at Swansea University and one in Cardiff University.
These ‘safe settings’ areas are secure office spaces where pre-approved users can interact with data held within our research programme. These areas have strict controls to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data is maintained appropriately and in line with data provider requirements and expectations.
We are committed to:
- protecting your privacy and complying with the principles of the relevant data protection regulations;
- ensuring that your data is handled properly and any information we hold is stored securely and used in a lawful and ethical way.
For information on what personal data we collect, how we ensure privacy and how we respect individuals’ legal rights relating to personal data, please read our full privacy statement.
This privacy statement relates to the collection, handling and storage of data we obtain from individuals who work with the Population Data Science group, either those directly employed or those who work with us to undertake research projects.
The Population Data Science group operates multiple externally certified ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS). The ISO/IEC 27001 standard is an internationally recognised and respected ‘best practice’ information security framework.
