Project Overview
Evaluating the impacts of Welsh Government-funded schemes designed to improve the energy efficiency of the homes of low-income households on health outcomes through the use of existing data.
The project used existing data to evaluate Welsh Government-funded schemes to improve energy efficiency in the homes of low-income households.
Building on previous research, we aimed to help our collaborators the Welsh Government, to understand the impact of fuel poverty on people’s health and to evaluate the strategy to reduce the number of people living in fuel poverty in Wales, with a view to shaping future policy.
The results would further Welsh Government’s understanding of how well the those at greatest risk of experiencing adverse health impacts from living in fuel poverty, while providing evidence to feed into policymaking.
Improvements to the fuel poverty strategy would increase its potential to effectively reduce the numbers of people living in fuel poverty and thus improve the health and wellbeing of people living in Wales.
