The Secure eResearch Platform (SeRP) at Swansea University is delighted to announce its role in a major £1.625 million investment from Population Research UK (PRUK).
Partnering with Health Data Research UK (HDR UK), the University of Nottingham, and the UKCRC Tissue Directory and Coordination Centre, SeRP will bring its expertise to help develop the new Population Research Gateway.
Leading the contribution from SeRP are Professor Simon Thompson and Emma Squires, bringing expertise in Trusted Research Environments (TREs), data discovery, metadata, data governance and access. Their work will help make UK Longitudinal Population Studies (LPS) easier for researchers to find, understand and use.
The £1.625 million programme will build on existing discovery services and bring together metadata from across UK LPS, creating a more unified route for researchers to explore available data and identify the resources they need.
This collaboration builds on the infrastructure, tools and experience developed across SeRP and the Dementias Platform UK Data Portal & Associated Hubs, and will involve working with partners across the UK to create a sustainable discovery capability for population research.
